I know I said I would post updates. And I know you may have been expecting something a little sooner. But that’s just too bad.
It’s day 24. I’m not entirely sure how I’ve managed to keep going, but here I am.
I didn’t have any of the digestive issues I had with my first attempt. In fact, there was hardly any noticeable transition in the first weeks. The only thing I really changed was to add a digestive enzyme which I take once a day, or whenever I remember.
I’ve eaten a total of 2 salads. They just don’t sound good even though it’s summer. Unfortunately for my HVAC and dishwasher, I’ve been doing a lot of cooking. If I had to choose the one thing I hate most about Whole 30, it’s all the damn dirty dishes. Seriously. That gets old in a hurry.
I’ve added sour kraut to the list of things I didn’t like before but enjoy now. I’ve reached a point I can tolerate berries and tomatoes but I don’t love them. I tried really really hard to like guacamole, but it just isn’t happening right now. I’m addicted to homemade mayo and my new spiralizer.
Before Whole 30 I had hideous heartburn so frequently it was unnerving. I’ve had a couple minor rounds but I suspect the cause is spicy foods. Just need to cut back on the heat!
And today I realized I’ve hardly been blowing my nose lately. I’d say on average, I’m used to 6 good blows throughout the day even when I’m not sick. I just blamed it on East TN allergies. Who would have thought it’d be related to food?!
I’m still wanting some junk foods, mostly bread, and I wish that would go away. I’m hoping that if I continue to eat like this, eventually I will get to the point that junk disgusts me. Some things already do like McDonald’s food and Coke. Ew.
I plan to finish reading the Whole30 book “It Starts with Food” by the end of the weekend so I can come up with a plan to reintroduce some foods. More on that in the next update.
Don’t hold your breath.
